Project Updates:

10/23/2023 – Terminal Expansion groundbreaking ceremony at 10:00 AM MST.

10/11/2023 – The airport board granted the Executive Director permission to apply for and receive, if granted 2024 ATP funds in the total amount of $21 million. These funds are part of the overall Terminal Renovation and Expansion Project funding plan for Project 1, Phase 2, consisting of the expansion of the baggage makeup area to support baggage carousels, relocation of TSA checkpoint to accommodate capacity and expansion/remodeling of the ticketing area to allow additional passenger queuing

09/12/2023 – Notice of Award: Scull Construction

05/09/2023 – Approved for Bid: Design for Project 1 #22-5321 Ticketing, Checked Baggage and Checkpoint 01/24/2023 – Permission to apply for and accept if received a Competitive Funding Opportunity: AIP Supplemental Discretionary Grant for Terminal Renovation and Expansion Project #1 in the amount of 20,000,000

02/27/2023 – Rapid City Regional Airport awarded $10.9 Million Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Grant

11/08/2022 –  Board approval of Amendment 1 to Mead & Hunt Task Order 2202-2 for an increase of $1,408,778, for a total contract amount of $8,206,175.
