Airport Sets New Record for Passenger Enplanements in First Half of 2024

The Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) has set a new record for passenger enplanements in the first half of 2024. A total of 175,953 passengers boarded flights at RAP, surpassing the

previous record of 146,216 set in 2023, marking an impressive 20.3% increase.

“Air service is vital for tourism in the Black Hills and Badlands region, boosting visitor numbers and allowing more people to experience our parks, unique attractions, and diverse activities,” said Michelle Thomson, President of the Black Hills

and Badlands Tourism Association.

Patrick Dame, Airport Executive Director, added, “Rapid City Regional Airport plays an important role in connecting the Black Hills region with the world, supporting local development and economic growth. We are grateful to our airline partners for providing increased air service this year. Additionally, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our passengers for helping us achieve these record-shattering numbers.”
