Rapid City Regional Airport saw third largest year on record in 2022

Rapid City Regional Airport reported statistics placing 2022 as the third-highest year for passenger numbers. The airport welcomed 672,549 total passengers. The highest year recorded was in 2019 with 705,429 passengers.


“No one was certain what to expect in 2022. With industry flight crew shortages, we hoped for the best and prepared to meet potential challenges. This year’s impressive numbers demonstrate the resiliency and ongoing demand for travel in western South Dakota. The future is bright for the Black Hills” stated Airport Executive Director, Patrick Dame.
