2021 Airport Statistics
Rapid City Regional Airport reported near record-breaking passenger numbers for 2021. Rebounding from the pandemic, the airport saw a total of 690,740 passengers,
compared to 374,079 in 2020—just shy of the all-time record 705,429 passengers in 2019.
Airline flights operated also increased by 48.5%. The addition of new seasonal routes contributed to success. Rapid City Regional Airport offered 25 nonstop routes to 24 different destinations with Allegiant, American, Delta, and United Airlines.
“This is exciting news as we recover from the pandemic.” stated Airport Executive Director Patrick Dame. “This year alone, we have seen an 84.7% growth in
passengers on flights coming through the airport. With this uptick of visitors to the region, we are cautiously optimistic for another great year of economic growth.”
